Mallorca – Pearl of Balears

Mallorca is located in the Mediterranean Sea and belongs to the Balearic Islands, along with Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera. Mallorca is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world.

Mallorca belongs to Balearic Islands

In this article, I will introduce you to some of Mallorca’s most beautiful beaches. I have to say right away that it is impossible to visit all the beaches in one summer because there are so many. But I’m sure anyone who goes to Mallorca will come back to her sometime.

First of all, I have to say that there are two types of beaches in Mallorca – one type is long and spacious sandy beaches, and the other type are small hidden coves, also called calas.

S’illot – this is the place where we were housed. The beach is very bad. The rocks are huge, the beach is small and the water relatively dirty. Only the one who has to swim here, or the one who hates to go 500 m further and enjoy the beautiful beach of Sa Coma, swims here.

Sa Coma beach offers plenty of facilities. There are several cafes where you can rent deck chairs or have a drink, there are plenty of shops and markets along with it, and there are also facilities for lovers of water activities. It is possible to go parasailing. The cost of parasailing for two was, I think, €80. On the beach, most people bring their own towel and parasol, rarely sitting at cafes. Here are some more pictures from Sa Coma…

Alcudia – Located in the north of the island, it is one of Mallorca’s most beautiful beaches. Alcudia belongs to long and spacious beaches, with soft, almost white sand and beautiful, clear water. If you are interested you can also visit the port of Alcudia as well as the old town. And on this beach you have a huge number of cafes, restaurants, water activities… The water was much cooler than on the other beaches, at least when we visited this beach.

Playa del Muro – When I planned tours, this beach was the first on the list. The reason is simple, in every picture I saw this beach looked like paradise. But the day we visited her, reality was a little different. Let’s go in order. We asked for parking for over half an hour, and in the end we were lucky that the weather was bad so someone decided to go home early and we hit his parking spot. So, first of all, be patient because the parking space around this beach is very low and the attendance is huge. When we finally reached the beach, the wind was blowing so much that swimming was practically impossible. The beach is completely open, like the sea, there is no shelter, and therefore the wind seems scarier than it may be. There are no cafes and shelters, so it was impossible to lower the towel without blowing the wind. The waves were huge and applied grass and various dirty things to spoil this beautiful color of the sea. After all this, I gave up swimming and decided to at least find this famous pontoon to make a few photos of it. First of all it was hard to find because the beach was huge and we did not have internet, so after a long hike we decided to look for it in a car. And when we finally found it, the rescuers decided to close it because of the strong wind. Fortunately, before closing, we were able to take a little walk, but also make a thumbnail. The lesson is to check the weather well when you visit this beach, as much as it is beautiful, strong wind can certainly spoil the impression that would otherwise be fantastic!

Cala Domingos – Definitely the most beautiful beach we’ve been to. The only flaw – jellyfish. There are many, but rescuers will immediately give you the cream you need and you’ll quickly forget about these small, boring creatures!

A few meters away, you can reach Domingos Petit Beach on foot. This is actually an even smaller cala than the previous one, with turquoise sea color and less hustle as the beach is a bit hidden.

Cala Millor – This is also one of the beautiful, long, sandy beaches. Perhaps the most beautiful of all I’ve written about so far. Rich in amenities, beautiful in color of the sea and decorated with beautiful, soft sand, along which it is nice to walk. I never took a picture of it because I enjoyed swimming so much that painting went into the background. But you certainly have many pictures of this beach on the internet because it is one of the most visited and beautiful beaches of this island.

Calo des Moro – the pearl of all Mallorca, by many opinions this the most beautiful cala. This beach is very hidden and difficult to reach, but this is actually it’s charm. You will help yourself when you find her and reach her, but when you see her, you will realize that it was all worth it!

Cala Mondrago and Cala S’Amarador – Two beaches immediately across from the other. From one beach to the other you can walk, and some even swim from one beach to another. They are located in the Mondrago National Park, in a really beautiful setting.

Cala S’Almonia – These are actually two calas in one. From one to the other you can swim or walk. These are actually two small bays where you can just drop your towel and go for a swim.

We also visited the following beaches: Cala Romantica, Cala Mendia, Cala Anguila|Cala Mandia, Cala Agulla, as well as Cala Santanyi. They are all beautiful and each has it’s own charm, although at first glance they look like each other. Some have cafes and bars, while some are completely deserted. Below are some pics from these beaches…

In this article, my goal was to introduce you to some of the most beautiful beaches of Mallorca that I was reminded of. In addition to these, there are many other beautiful beaches, but it is really impossible to visit them all in one summer. Other beautiful beaches are: Es Trenc, Cala D’Or, Porto Cristo, Pollenca, Soller, El Arenal, Manacor, Magaluf and many others.

In addition to touring the beautiful beaches, there are numerous attractions to visit during your stay in Mallorca. Here are some suggestions:

🚂 Tren Soller – You can also visit the beautiful town Soller, by tren that goes from Palma to the port of Soller. On this occasion, you will also ride one of the oldest trams, and then ride through the beautiful landscapes of Mallorca, all the way to the beautiful Soller. This adventure will cost you €37 per person, and departure is from Palma, from the precisely marked station departing exclusively from this cart.

🌸 Valldemossa – You can go to this beautiful village and enjoy the beauty that it offers. It is truly an unforgettable experience!

💎 You can visit the pearl factory in Manacor. This is also the place where Rafael Nadal was born, so you can also visit his museum.

🌴 Of course, there is an inevitable visit to Palma, the capital of Mallorca. I will write more about this in a later article, because Palma is so content that it deserves a special, own text. And until then, here’s a photo from Palma.

So much for now, and there will certainly be many more texts on the beautiful Mallorca and it’s beauties. Let me know if you have ever been to this island and what are your impressions! 📩
